2002 Statistics
For the 2002 statistics, all Member States used the standard statistical format without any inconsistencies, although one country submitted data for 2001. In addition, the different definitions of an animal and an experiment still make exact comparisons impossible between countries. The European Commission report on these statistics was published in 2005 along with a Staff Working Paper recording the actual data.
