2005 Statistics
For the 2005 statistics, 25 Member States supplied dtata and they all used the standard statistical format without any inconsistencies. In addition, the different definitions of an animal and an experiment still make exact comparisons impossible between countries. The European Commission report on these statistics was published in 2007 along with a Staff Working Paper recording the actual data.
