Animal research in Germany: the current situation
Animal research issues have diminished in importance in Germany as social problems have risen in the past three years. Animal research is no longer a favourite subject for the media. Even when the Yamanouchi case, brought up by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals was a front-page-story in the main Sunday paper in June, it stimulated no further interest. Animal rights activists are concentrating on primate research, but the media does not seem to be really interested, nor do politicians.
