The new Directive is adopted
The new Directive 2010/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes has been published today, 20 October 2010 .
The text in all EU languages can be found going to the relevant issue of the European Journal (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/JOHtml.do?uri=OJ%3AL%3A2010%3A276%3ASOM%3AEN%3AHTML) and using the drop down menu at the top right to select your languague.
The directive enters into force 20 days after its publication. The deadline for transposition into national legislation is 10 November 2012. Member States must apply the provisions as of 1 January 2013.
